O corpus analisado resultou de entrevistas com uma professora de Qu&#237;mica e outra de Biologia, atuantes em escolas t&#233;cnicas federais distintas do Rio de Janeiro. Constructos da filosofia da linguagem de Mikhail Bakhtin fundamentaram a an&#225;lise das enuncia&#231;&#245;es. Ambas as professoras se apropriam fundamentalmente da perspectiva de educa&#231;&#227;o cient&#237;fica de qualidade dominante em seu contexto institucional. No discurso de Ta&#237;s, a qualidade &#233; alinhada com a forma&#231;&#227;o para o mercado de trabalho. No discurso de Cleo, a qualidade &#233; objeto de luta contra a concep&#231;&#227;o utilitarista do ensino de ci&#234;ncias e em defesa da forma&#231;&#227;o integral.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ The aim of this study was to investigate how teachers of professional technical education build perspectives on the quality of science education as practice guidelines. The data analyzed resulted from interviews with a chemistry teacher and a biology teacher who taught in distinct federal technical schools of Rio de Janeiro. The analysis is based on concepts from Mikhail Bakhtin's philosophy of language. Both teachers primarily appropriate the perspective of quality of science education which is dominant in their institutional context. According to Ta&#237;s, the quality is in line with the training for the job market. In the speech of Cleo, the quality is the subject of combating the utilitarian conception of science education and in defense of integral formation.]]></p></abstract>
