Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, de natureza descritiva e interpretativa, amparado no referencial teórico das Representações Sociais que fez uso de uma abordagem mista (quantitativa e qualitativa) para interpretar os dados obtidos por intermédio de um questionário semiaberto. Os resultados nos dão indícios de que a ausência da Educação Física nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental pode ter contribuído para o quadro de desinteresse desses escolares, assim como a falta de pluralidade de conteúdos da cultura corporal do movimento.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The present work had as objective to identify, through the opinion of the schoolchildren of an eighth grade class, of a state public school in the city of Niterói, whether / how / why the curriculum component Physical Education has left, over time, gaps about their learning. It is an exploratory, descriptive and interpretative study, supported by the theoretical framework of Social Representations that used a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative) to interpret the data obtained through a semi-open questionnaire. The results give us indications that the absence of Physical Education in the initial years of Elementary Education may have contributed to the lack of interest of these students, as well as the lack of plurality of contents of the body culture of the movement.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo identificar, a través de la opinión de los escolares de una clase de octavo grado, de una escuela pública estatal en la ciudad de Niterói, si el componente del plan de estudios de Educación Física se ha ido, con el tiempo, lagunas sobre su aprendizaje. Es un estudio exploratorio, descriptivo e interpretativo, respaldado por el marco teórico de las Representaciones Sociales que utilizó un enfoque mixto (cuantitativo y cualitativo) para interpretar los datos obtenidos a través de un cuestionario semiabierto. Los resultados nos dan indicaciones de que la ausencia de Educación Física en los primeros años de Educación Primaria puede haber contribuido a la falta de interés de estos estudiantes, así como a la falta de pluralidad de contenidos de la cultura corporal del movimiento.]]></p></abstract>
