Contudo, é no campo da tradição crítica da teoria social e educacional e na periferia do sistema dominante que seu pensamento viceja vigorosamente. No intuito de buscar contribuir com o revigoramento desse campo teórico crítico na atualidade, é que esse artigo procura apresentar outras possibilidades de leitura acerca do pensamento de Paulo Freire a partir do Sul, em particular a partir da noção de Sul Anti-imperial, presente no Pensamento Pós-Abissal de Boaventura Santos. Como fio de análise, coloco a seguinte questão: ao se posicionar Paulo Freire sob essa perspectiva do Sul, é possível fazer emergir outras leituras de seu pensamento pedagógico libertador e contribuir para o revigoramento de sua teoria crítica na atualidade? Esse texto se inscreve no bojo de um projeto de pesquisa, que está em andamento, que busca estabelecer um diálogo Sul-Sul entre o pensamento de Freire e o pensamento de Boaventura Santos, com foco nos temas da democracia e educação pública na atualidade da sociedade brasileira.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The educator Paulo Freire&#8217;s thought can be read from different angles and perspectives in each historical moment and socio-cultural reality. However, it is in the camp of the critical tradition of social and educational theory and on the periphery of the dominant system that his thought thrives vigorously. In order to seek to contribute to the reinvigoration of this critical theoretical field today, is that this article seeks to present other possibilities of reading about Paulo Freire&#8217;s thought from the South, particularly from the notion of the Anti-imperial South, present in the Post-Abyssal Thought of Boaventura Santos. As a thread of analysis, I ask the following question: when positioning Paulo Freire under this perspective from the South, is it possible to make other readings of his liberating pedagogical thought emerge and contribute to the reinvigoration of his critical theory today? This text is part of a research project, which is underway, which seeks to establish a South-South dialogue between Freire&#8217;s thought and Boaventura Santos&#8217; thought, focusing on the themes of democracy and public education in today's Brazilian society.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: El pensamiento del educador Paulo Freire puede leerse desde diferentes ángulos y perspectivas en cada momento histórico y realidad sociocultural. Sin embargo, es en el campo de la tradición crítica de la historia social y educativa y en la periferia del sistema dominante donde su pensamiento prospera vigorosamente. Con el propósito de buscar contribuir con la revitalización de este campo teórico-crítico en la actualidad, es que este artículo busca presentar otras posibilidades de lectura sobre el pensamiento de Paulo Freire desde el Sur, en particular desde la noción de Sur Anti Imperial, presente en el Pensamiento Post Abisal de Boaventura Santos. Como hilo de análisis, planteo la siguiente pregunta: al posicionar a Paulo Freire bajo esta perspectiva desde el Sur, ¿es posible dar surgimiento a otras lecturas de su pensamiento pedagógico libertador y contribuir al fortalecimiento de su teoría crítica en la actualidad? Este texto es parte de un proyecto de investigación, que está en marcha, que busca establecer un diálogo Sur-Sur entre la apertura de Freire y el pensamiento de Boaventura Santos, centrándose en los temas de democracia y educación pública en la sociedad brasileña actual.]]></p></abstract>
