Esse momento hist&#243;rico &#233; caracterizado por empreendimentos de moderniza&#231;&#227;o, industrializa&#231;&#227;o e urbaniza&#231;&#227;o do pa&#237;s que, em conson&#226;ncia com a reforma do ensino, se mantiveram em estreita rela&#231;&#227;o com o plano de nacionaliza&#231;&#227;o empreendido durante a era Vargas. Utilizou-se o conceito de governamentalidade para a realiza&#231;&#227;o da an&#225;lise de documentos mantidos pelo acervo hist&#243;rico do Instituto Nacional de Educa&#231;&#227;o de Surdos - Ines. As an&#225;lises mostraram que a identidade nacional dos sujeitos surdos se constituiu, sobretudo, por meio de processos de condu&#231;&#227;o/normaliza&#231;&#227;o e de difus&#227;o da l&#237;ngua portuguesa escrita e da l&#237;ngua brasileira de sinais entre os surdos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper aims to analyze practices that permeate deaf education in the context of the period between 1934 and 1948. This historical moment is characterized by developments of modernization, industrialization and urbanization of the country, in line with the educational reform, remained in close relationship to the nationalization plan waged during the Vargas Era. It was used the Foucauldian concept of governmentality to execute the analysis of documentary sources maintained by the historical archive of the National Institute for Deaf Education - Ines. The analysis showed that the national identity of deaf people was mainly constituted by conduction/ normalization processes and dissemination of written Portuguese language and Brazilian sign language among the deaf people.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El art&#237;culo examina las pr&#225;cticas que permean la educaci&#243;n de los sordos en el contexto del per&#237;odo entre 1934 y 1948 en Brasil. Este momento hist&#243;rico, que se caracteriza por el desarrollo de la modernizaci&#243;n, la industrializaci&#243;n y urbanizaci&#243;n del pa&#237;s, en consonancia con la reforma de la educaci&#243;n, se mantuvo en estrecha relaci&#243;n con el emprendido plan de nacionalizaci&#243;n durante la era Vargas. Utilizamos el concepto de gubernamentalidad para realizar el an&#225;lisis de fuentes documentales en poder de la colecci&#243;n hist&#243;rica del Instituto Nacional para la Educaci&#243;n de Sordos - Ines. Los an&#225;lisis mostraron que la identidad nacional de las personas sordas se constituy&#243; principalmente por procesos de conducci&#243;n/normalizaci&#243;n y difusi&#243;n de la lengua portuguesa escrita y la lengua brasile&#241;a de se&#241;as entre los sordos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[R&#233;sum&#233; Cet article examine les pratiques qui ont lieu dans l'&#233;ducation des sourds dans le contexte social de la p&#233;riode 1934-1948 au Br&#233;sil. Ce moment historique est caract&#233;ris&#233; par l'&#233;volution de la modernisation, de l'industrialisation et de l'urbanisation du pays, conform&#233;ment &#224; la r&#233;forme de l'&#233;ducation, est rest&#233; en relation &#233;troite avec le niveau de la nationalisation effectu&#233;e pendant l'&#232;re Vargas.
