Para tanto, apresento brevemente as características gerais do marco regulatório da educação obrigatória nos dois países e, na sequência, com base em pesquisa documental, comparo as propostas curriculares nacionais que configuram a política do conhecimento oficial para a educação de primeira infância. Nas conclusões aponto alguns dos possíveis desdobramentos do design curricular proposto sobre o contexto da prática e, também, sobre os modos de socialização das crianças.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In this article, which presents some of the results of a post-doctoral study, I analyze Brazilian policies for Early Childhood Education and Portuguese Pre-school Education. To do so, I briefly present the general characteristics of regulations guiding mandatory education in the two countries, and then, based on document research, I compare the national curriculum proposals that guide early childhood education policies. In the conclusions, I point to some of the possible consequences of the curriculum design proposed on the context of practice and on the modes of socialization of children.]]></p></abstract>
