Resulta de pesquisa na literatura e ampara-se em marcos legais brasileiros e autores como Bauman (2007, 2008, 2009), Cardia e Bastos (2005), Reis (2009, 2013), dentre outros. O intuito &#233; problematizar a respeito da fun&#231;&#227;o e responsabilidade da escola em propiciar uma educa&#231;&#227;o de envergadura cr&#237;tica e emancipadora que resulte em forma&#231;&#227;o de cidad&#227;os capazes de exercer a prerrogativa de questionar o mundo a partir dos saberes escolares. Dentre esses saberes, destacam-se os conhecimentos da &#225;rea das Ci&#234;ncias Naturais que podem oferecer espa&#231;o para projetos interdisciplinares que oportunizem uma educa&#231;&#227;o cient&#237;fica capaz de lan&#231;ar luz na constru&#231;&#227;o de uma consci&#234;ncia ambiental, l&#250;cida, enquanto consumidores, capazes de agir de forma ativa e posicionar-se perante os apelos do mercado e do consumo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This article aims to deepen the relationship between citizen formation and consumption practices. It is the result of research in the literature, and it is supported by Brazilian legal frameworks and writers like Bauman (2007, 2008, 2009), Cardia and Bastos (2005), Reis (2009, 2013), and among others. The purpose is to discuss the role and the responsibility of the school in providing a meaningful and emancipatory education that results in the formation of citizens able to exercise the prerogative of questioning the world based on the academic knowledge. Within such knowledge, the focus is given to the knowledge in the natural sciences area, which can offer space for the development of interdisciplinary projects. These projects create opportunities to promote a scientific education that will shed light on the construction of a lucid and environmentally conscious moral sense as consumers able of acting actively and position themselves faced with the market appeals and the consumption.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: El art&#237;culo objetiva profundizar la relaci&#243;n entre formaci&#243;n ciudadana y pr&#225;cticas de consumo. Resulta de investigaci&#243;n en literatura y se ampara en marcos legales brasile&#241;os y autores como Bauman (2007, 2008, 2009), Cardia y Bastos (2005), Reis (2009, 2013), entre otros. El intuito es problematizar respecto de la funci&#243;n y responsabilidad de la escuela en propiciar una educaci&#243;n de envergadura cr&#237;tica y emancipadora que resulte en formaci&#243;n de ciudadanos capaces de ejercer la prerrogativa de cuestionar al mundo desde los saberes escolares. Entre esos saberes, se destacan los conocimientos del campo de las Ciencias Naturales que pueden ofrecer espacio para proyectos interdisciplinarios que aporten una educaci&#243;n cient&#237;fica capaz de arrojar luz a la construcci&#243;n de una consciencia ambiental, l&#250;cida, mientras consumidores, capaces de actuar de forma activa y posicionarse ante los llamamientos del mercado y del consumo.]]></p></abstract>
