Optando metodologicamente por uma &#8220;revisão topográfica&#8221;, objetivamos mapear a produção acadêmica nacional, destacando as tendências metodológicas e temáticas dos 70 artigos analisados. Entre os resultados, destacamos o aumento de pesquisas que utilizaram metodologias quantitativas ou mistas e a predominância dos estudos sobre &#8220;gestão democrática&#8221;.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Considering the central role of school principalship for school results, this study presents a review of papers involving the concepts of &#8220;school management&#8221; and &#8220;school leadership&#8221;, carried out on a sample of educational journals. Methodologically opting for a &#8220;topographic review&#8221;, we aim to map the national academic production, highlighting the methodological and thematic trends of the 70 articles analyzed. Among the results, we highlight the increased presence of research that used quantitative or mixed methodologies, and the predominance of studies on &#8220;democratic management&#8221;.]]></p></abstract>
