Ressaltamos, ainda, que nesse trabalho tomamos &#8220;sentidos&#8221; como mobilização. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva-exploratória, de cunho qualitativo, realizada com 67 professores da Educação Básica de escolas municipais de Itapetinga-Bahia. Os dados produzidos originaram-se de um questionário aplicado aos referidos professores. Por meio do diálogo com os autores que embasaram a pesquisa, realizamos a análise e tratamento dos dados. Tais dados foram agrupados em quatro categorias, a saber: (1) Grau de satisfação com o salário; (2) Grau de satisfação com a docência; (3) Expectativa quanto a continuidade dos estudos; (4) Expectativa quanto a continuidade da carreira. Tais resultados, a partir das (in)satisfações e expectativas do grupo pesquisado, forneceram subsídios para a percepção das dificuldades enfrentadas e da premência na geração de políticas públicas que possibilitem suporte para enfrentar os inúmeros desafios manifestos e para que as pessoas que optaram permanecer na docência sejam de fato assistidas em seu desenvolvimento profissional.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The study discusses permanence in teaching and aims to analyze the meanings attributed to the continuation of teaching activities in the professional trajectory of teachers in the pre-retirement phase. It is important to note that in this work, we consider "meanings" as mobilization. This is a descriptive-exploratory, qualitative research conducted with 67 Basic Education teachers from municipal schools in Itapetinga, Bahia. The data collected originated from a questionnaire administered to these teachers. Through dialogue with the authors who supported the research, we conducted the analysis and treatment of the data. These data were grouped into four categories: (1) Satisfaction with salary; (2) Satisfaction with teaching; (3) Expectations regarding the continuation of studies; (4) Expectations regarding the continuation of the career. The results, based on the (in)satisfactions and expectations of the surveyed group, provided insights into the difficulties faced and the urgent need for public policies that offer support to tackle the numerous challenges encountered and ensure that those who chose to remain in teaching are adequately supported in their professional development.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El estudio discute la permanencia en la docencia y tiene como objetivo analizar los sentidos atribuidos a la continuidad de la acción docente en la trayectoria profesional del profesor en la fase de pre-jubilación. Destacamos también que en este trabajo tomamos "sentidos" como movilización. Se trata de una investigación descriptiva-exploratoria, de carácter cualitativo, realizada con 67 profesores de Educación Básica de escuelas municipales en Itapetinga, Bahía. Los datos producidos se originaron a partir de un cuestionario aplicado a dichos profesores. A través del diálogo con los autores que fundamentaron la investigación, realizamos el análisis y tratamiento de los datos. Estos datos fueron agrupados en cuatro categorías: (1) Grado de satisfacción con el salario; (2) Grado de satisfacción con la docencia; (3) Expectativa sobre la continuación de los estudios; (4) Expectativa sobre la continuidad de la carrera. Los resultados, a partir de las (in) satisfacciones y expectativas del grupo investigado, proporcionaron insumos para la percepción de las dificultades enfrentadas y la urgencia en la generación de políticas públicas que permitan el apoyo para enfrentar los numerosos desafíos manifestados y para que las personas que optaron por permanecer en la docencia sean efectivamente asistidas en su desarrollo profesional.]]></p></abstract>
