Estes dados foram discutidos e organizados sob os seguintes tópicos: A educação no contexto teórico dos trabalhos sobre o negro brasileiro; Dados de interesse sobre a educação do negro; Fatores que interferem na escolarização do negro; Conseqüências da escolarização do negro; Resistências e perspectivas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This article joins within a coherent and systematic scheme a set of data, informations and considerations on the education of negroes, on account of the absence of specific studies on this subject, are dispersed among the extensive bibliography concerning Brazilian negroes. These data were discussed and organized under the following headings: Education in the theoretical context of the studies concerning the Brazilian negro; Relevant data about this theme; Factors that affect negro's scholarship; Consequences of negro scholarship; Reactions and perspectives.]]></p></abstract>
