Na primeira parte, &#233; realizada a revis&#227;o das principais abordagens e interpreta&#231;&#245;es oferecidas &#224; quest&#227;o do teto de vidro na literatura sociol&#243;gica. Na segunda parte, s&#227;o explorados os tra&#231;os comuns e as diferen&#231;as marcantes entre as l&#243;gicas sociais de constru&#231;&#227;o das desigualdades de carreira sexuadas nos dois setores. O setor p&#250;blico, por muito tempo, pareceu ser um meio mais &#8220;igualit&#225;rio&#8221; e aberto &#224;s mulheres do que as empresas privadas. Indaga-se, na conclus&#227;o, se esse tra&#231;o distintivo estaria se dissipando.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The article compares the careers of women in top executive and high ranking positions in the public and private sectors in France. The first part presents a review of the main approaches and interpretations offered to the glass ceiling issue in the sociological literature. The second part investigates the common traits as well as the striking differences in the social logic of the construction of gender inequalities in careers, in both sectors. The public sector, for a long time, has seemed to be more &#8220;egalitarian&#8221; and open to women than private companies. However, in the conclusion, we question if this distinctive characteristic is disappearing.]]></p></abstract>

En la primera parte se lleva a cabo la revisi&#243;n de los principales abordajes e interpretaciones relacionados con el tema del techo de vidrio en la literatura sociol&#243;gica. En la segunda se exploran los rasgos comunes y las marcadas diferencias entre las l&#243;gicas sociales de construcci&#243;n de las desigualdades de carrera sexuadas en los dos sectores. Durante mucho tiempo el sector p&#250;blico pareci&#243; ser un medio m&#225;s &#8220;igualitario&#8221; y abierto a las mujeres que las empresas privadas. Se indaga en la conclusi&#243;n si tal rasgo distintivo se estar&#237;a disipando.]]></p></abstract>
