Para este estudo, elegeram-se como objeto de análise as teorias da higiene e da eugenia, como produtoras do conceito do direito biológico à educação, e suas relações com alguns procedimentos pedagógicos legitimadores dessas concepções.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This article is a discussion about the development of a school culture founded in the whitening of the Brazilian people in the context of the New School movement, at the beginning of 20th century. For this purpose the study was focused on the analysis of hygienic and eugenic movement. The theories underlying these movements can be seen as producers of the concept of biological right to education and will be studied through the relationship with some pedagogic practices that legitimated these ideas.]]></p></abstract>
