Depois de sugerir que os actuais problemas educativos são reedições dos velhos problemas educativos, analisam-se dois destes problemas: a contribuição da educação para a cidadania e a gestão da educação como bem público. Tendo por base o reconhecimento de que a actual crise da escolarização não pode ser superada através de acréscimos de escolarização e procedendo uma crítica do pressuposto de que o mercado poderia assegurar uma gestão mais eficaz e equitativa da educação, elegem-se quatro domínios de intervenção particularmente relevantes para a formulação de tais narrativas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This text intends to contribute to the construction of alternative educational narratives. After suggesting that current educational problems are simply new versions of old educational problems, two such problems are analyzed: the contribution of education to citizenship and the management of education as a public good. The paper recognizes that the current crises in schooling cannot be overcome through increased schooling. It criticizes the presumption that the market can offer more effective and equitable management of education. Four dominions are chosen for intervention that are relevant to the formulation of these narratives.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Ce texte veut contribuer pour la production de narratives alternatives dans le champ éducatif. Après un premier moment où l’on suggère que les problèmes éducatifs actuels sont, en fait, des rééditions des vieux problèmes, l’on analyse deux de ces problèmes: la contribution de l’éducation pour la citoyenneté et la gestion de l’éducation en tant que bien public. En reconnaissant que l’actuelle crise de la scolarisation ne peut pas être dépassé par la croissance de la scolarisation, et en faisant un critique au fait que le marché n’assure pas une éducation plus efficace et égalitaire, on propose quatre domaines d’intervention particulièrement importants pour production de telles narratives.]]></p></abstract>
