Ao lado da reforma do Estado, apresentamos, a partir de alguns documentos elaborados como resultado da Conferência Mundial de Educação para Todos, realizada na Tailândia em 1990, reflexões sobre as perspectivas que embasam e orientam a reforma da Educação Básica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The purpose of this article is to present some considerations about the Basic Education reform implemented in Brazil in the 1990’s and its articulation with the reform of the Brazilian State and the ideology of post-modernity. The latter, by sustaining the reforms and strategies implemented in the context of globalization and neoliberalism, proposes a need for a “new rationality” that is expressed in the so-called public administration. Along with State reform, based on some documents prepared as a result of the World Conference of Education for All, held in Thailand in 1990, we present some reflections on the perspectives that found and guide the reform of Basic Education.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[El presente artículo presenta algunas consideraciones en relación a la reforma de la Educación Básica en Brasil, en la década de 1990, y su articulación con la Reforma del Estado Brasilero y las ideologías pos-modernas que al sostener las reformas y las estrategias implementadas en el contexto de la globalización y del neoliberalismo proponen la necesidad de una “nueva racionalidad” que se expresa en la llamada administración pública gerencial. Al lado de la Reforma del Estado, presentamos, a partir de algunos documentos elaborados como resultado de la Conferencia Mundial de Educación para Todos, realizada en 1990 en Jomtien, Tailandia, reflexiones sobre las perspectivas que fundamentan y orientan la reforma de la Educación Básica.]]></p></abstract>
