Este texto trata de plantear qué posibilidades está ofreciendo el multimedia a los entornos instruccionales latinoamericanos y por qué la Web 2.0 es una nueva oportunidad. Desde el 2004 el término Web 2.0 ha supuesto una revolución en los sitios de Internet, y ha generado algunas nuevas ideas educativas identificadas como “eLearning 2.0”. La ambigüedad de ambos términos no nos permite afirmar que nos encontramos ante un nuevo paradigma para la Educación a Distancia potenciada por la tecnología, pero parece que algunas ideas podrían provocar cambios en aspectos clave del currículum: la red como plataforma, o los sistemas multidispositivo cambian el concepto de estudiar en cualquier lugar y momento; la inteligencia colectiva y la riqueza de la experiencia del usuario afecta el concepto de autoridad en sistemas educativos; las etiquetas y los lectores RSS nos hacen revisar las taxonomías tradicionales así como la organización del conocimiento y la recuperación de la información.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Web 2.0 representa uma segunda chance para a introdução de recursos multimídia e materiais no sistema de ensino. Este trabalho procura levar em consideração as possibilidades que estão sendo oferecidas de ambientes multimídia na educação da América Latina e porque a web 2.0 é uma nova oportunidade. Desde 2004 o termo web 2.0 revolucionou sites da Internet e produziu algumas das novas idéias educacionais identificadas como eLearnig 2.0. Pela ambiguidade de ambos os termos, pode-se dizer que estamos diante de um novo paradigma para a educação a distância reforçada pela tecnologia, mas parece que algumas ideias podem levar à mudanças em aspectos fundamentais do currículo: a rede como plataforma, o dispositivo multi-sistemas ou de mudança de conceito de estudar em qualquer lugar a qualquer hora. Inteligência coletiva e rica experiência do usuário afeta o conceito de autoridade dos sistemas educativos, tags e RSS e os leitores fazem com que seja revista as taxonomias tradicionais, organização do conhecimento e recuperação de informação.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Web 2.0 provides a second opportunity to introduce multimedia materials and resources in Educational systems. This text analyzes options offered for multimedia environments in Latin American education and why Web 2.0 is a new opportunity. Since 2004, the term web 2.0 has created a revolution at Internet sites and generated new educational ideas identified as “eLearning 2.0”. Given the ambiguity of both terms, it can be said that we are facing a new paradigm for distance education reinforced by the technology, but it appears that some ideas can lead to changes in fundamental factors in the curriculum such as: the network as a platform, the multi-systems device or changes in the concept of studying in any place at any time. Collective intelligence and the rich experience of the user affects the concept of authority of educational systems, tags and RSS and readers reconsider the traditional taxonomies and forms of organization of knowledge and information recovery.]]></p></abstract>
