O estudo amparado pelo ferramental te&#243;rico metodol&#243;gico da Hist&#243;ria Cultural identifica duas grandes finalidades, que dizem respeito aos saberes matem&#225;ticos, atribu&#237;das ao ensino de tal mat&#233;ria: na primeira, os Trabalhos Manuais t&#234;m como fun&#231;&#227;o auxiliar o processo de compreens&#227;o dos saberes geom&#233;tricos, que funciona como um "m&#233;todo de ensino" para aprender saberes matem&#225;ticos; na segunda, os Trabalhos Manuais como utiliza&#231;&#227;o de saberes matem&#225;ticos estudados em outras mat&#233;rias para a forma&#231;&#227;o do trabalhador, de um of&#237;cio ao aluno. Desse modo, uma representa&#231;&#227;o dos Trabalhos Manuais no curso prim&#225;rio paulista seria a compreens&#227;o das rela&#231;&#245;es desta mat&#233;ria com os saberes matem&#225;ticos como uma via de m&#227;o dupla, em que um saber auxilia o outro e contribui a concretizar o ensino moral, f&#237;sico, intelectual e profissional, de modo pr&#225;tico e intuitivo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This article aims to build a first representation on the teaching of the Crafts as a subject in primary school of S&#227;o Paulo from its relationship with mathematical knowledge. The study supported by the theoretical and methodological tools of Cultural History has two main purposes, which relate to mathematical knowledge, attributed to the school for these matters: first, the Crafts function is to assist the process of understanding the geometric knowledge, which functions as a "teaching method" to learn mathematical knowledge; in the second, the Craft as an use of mathematical knowledge studied in other subjects for the formation of worker, for a craft to the student. Thereby, a representation of Craft in S&#227;o Paulo primary school would be the understanding of the relationship of this subject with the mathematical knowledge as a two-way street, where one knowledge helps to know the other and contributes to achieve moral, physical, intellectual, and professional education, in a practical and intuitive way.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Cet article vise &#224; construire une premi&#232;re repr&#233;sentation sur l'enseignement de l'objet le Travail Manuel dans l'&#233;cole primaire de S&#227;o Paulo depuis sa relation avec la connaissance math&#233;matique.
