O estudo possui como objetivos identificar as variáveis preditoras para a intenção de abandono do curso e da avaliação do papel mediador da satisfação com o curso entre a Síndrome de Burnout e a intenção de abandonar o curso. Participaram da investigação 1.169 estudantes universitários que responderam a um instrumento de pesquisa que continha itens como satisfação com o curso, intenção de abandono do curso, escala de avaliação da Síndrome de Burnout, escala de estresse percebido e um questionário sobre dados sociodemográficos, acadêmicos e estressores acadêmicos. As variáveis preditoras foram a Síndrome de Burnout, a menor satisfação com o curso e o estressor muitas disciplinas para cursar. A satisfação com o curso desempenhou papel mediador entre a Síndrome de Burnout e a intenção de abandono do curso.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The intention to drop out of a university course can be considered a differentiated and recognizable stage that can be diagnosed before the effective decision to drop out. The study has the objectives of identifying the predictor variables for course dropout intention and to evaluate the mediating role of satisfaction with the course between Burnout Syndrome and the intention to drop. A total of 1,169 university students participated in the investigation by answering to a survey that contained items such as course satisfaction, intention to drop out, the Burnout Syndrome assessment scale, perceived stress scale, and a questionnaire about sociodemographic data, academic data and academic stressors. The predictive variables were Burnout Syndrome, lower satisfaction with the course, and the stressor too many disciplines to attend. Satisfaction with the course played a mediating role between Burnout Syndrome and the intention to course drop out.]]></p></abstract>

El estudio tiene como objetivo identificar las variables predictoras de intención de abandono del curso y la evaluación del papel mediador de la satisfacción con el curso entre el Síndrome de Burnout y la intención de abandono del curso. En la investigación, participaron un total de 1.169 estudiantes universitarios, que respondieron a una encuesta que contenía ítems como la satisfacción con el curso la intención de abandono del curso, la escala de evaluación del Síndrome de Burnout, la escala de estrés percibido y un cuestionario sobre datos sociodemográficos, datos académicos y estresores académicos. Las variables predictoras fueron el Síndrome de Burnout, la menor satisfacción con el curso, y el estresor muchas asignaturas por cursar.
