O principal argumento é o de que a revista contribuiu significativamente para a institucionalização desse debate no campo acadêmico brasileiro, com reflexões sobre concepções, desenhos, metodologias e formas de implementação das avaliações. Apresentam-se uma descrição quantitativa das publicações desse período e categorias de análise estabelecidas a priori e a posteriori. Como resultados, evidencia-se o protagonismo da Fundação Carlos Chagas nessa temática e identificam-se modos de consolidação do debate sobre avaliações externas no campo acadêmico brasileiro e lacunas de conhecimento sobre os usos das avaliações externas em escolas e redes de ensino.]]></p></abstract>

Se presentan una descripción cuantitativa de las publicaciones de dicho periodo y categorías de análisis establecidas a priori y a posteriori. Como resultados, se pone en evidencia el protagonismo de la Fundação Carlos Chagas en tal temática y se identifican modos de consolidación del debate sobre evaluaciones externas en el campo académico brasileño y lagunas de conocimiento sobre los usos de las evaluaciones externas en escuelas y redes de enseñanza.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The article analyzes texts published in the journal Estudos em Avaliação Educacional, between 1990 and 2018, related to the theme of external evaluation. The main argument is that the journal has contributed significantly to the institutionalization of this debate in the Brazilian academic field, with reflections on concepts, designs, methodologies, and ways of implementing evaluations. A quantitative description of the articles published in this period is presented and categories of analysis are established a priori and a posteriori. As a result, the protagonism of Fundação Carlos Chagas on this theme is demonstrated; and ways of consolidating the debate on external evaluations in the Brazilian academic field, as well as knowledge gaps about the uses of external evaluations in schools and education networks, are identified.]]></p></abstract>
