A crescente oferta de inglês nos anos iniciais em contextos públicos, especificamente por meio das secretarias municipais de educação, motivou o desenvolvimento de um projeto de pesquisa que mapeou a oferta do idioma em quatro estados brasileiros. Os dados desse projeto são utilizados para subsidiar as propostas, que têm como principais eixos a promoção do letramento em avaliação de línguas e a avaliação orientada para a aprendizagem. Entendemos que esses eixos têm potencial para exercer grande impacto no ensino e na aprendizagem da língua inglesa e se alinham à proposta de avaliação formativa preconizada pela Base Nacional Comum Curricular.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Este artículo presenta propuestas de directivas y metas para el Plano Nacional de Educação [Plan Nacional de Educación] 2025-2035, con el objetivo de insertar la oferta del idioma inglés en educación primaria I. La creciente oferta de inglés en los primeros años de contextos públicos, específicamente a través de los departamentos municipales de educación, motivó el desarrollo de un proyecto de investigación que mapea la oferta del idioma en cuatro estados brasileños. Los datos de este proyecto se utilizan para respaldar las propuestas que tienen como principales ejes la promoción de la literacidad en la evaluación de lenguas y la evaluación orientada al aprendizaje. Entendemos que estos ejes tienen el potencial de ejercer un gran impacto en la enseñanza y el aprendizaje del idioma inglés y están en línea con la propuesta de evaluación formativa propugnada por la Base Nacional Comum Curricular [Base Nacional Común Curricular].]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This article proposes guidelines and goals for the 2025-2035 Plano Nacional de Educação [National Education Plan], aiming at including the teaching of English in elementary schools. The growing provision of English in the early years in public education, specifically through the municipal education departments, motivated the development of a research project that mapped the provision of the language in four Brazilian states. Data from this project are used to support the proposals which have the promotion of language assessment literacy and learning-oriented assessment as their main axes. We understand that these axes have the potential to have a great impact on the teaching and learning of the English language and are in line with the proposal for the formative assessment advocated by the Base Nacional Comum Curricular [Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum].]]></p></abstract>
