Os resultados revelam disparidades no desempenho estudantil relacionadas a gênero, cor/raça, tipo de escola e região. O contexto histórico de exclusão dos negros e indígenas, a concepção de que mulheres não deveriam estar na área de exatas e o acesso de pessoas com deficiência nas escolas são algumas das possíveis justificativas. Conclui-se, assim, que desafios significativos permanecem para que uma educação científica eficaz e igualitária aconteça no país.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Este estudio buscó monitorear la implementación de la Meta 7 del Plano Nacional de Educação [Plan Nacional de Educación] en Brasil, analizando los documentos referentes a la educación básica y los datos del Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio [Examen Nacional de Educación Secundaria] de 2014 a 2022. Los resultados revelan disparidades en el desempeño de los estudiantes relacionadas con el género, color/raza, tipo de escuela y región. El contexto histórico de exclusión de negros e indígenas, la idea de que las mujeres no deberían estar en el área de las ciencias exactas y el acceso de personas con discapacidad en las escuelas son algunas de las posibles justificaciones. Se concluye, por lo tanto, que desafíos significativos permanecen para que una educación científica eficaz y equitativa acontezca en el país.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The present study aimed to monitor the implementation of Goal 7 of the Plano Nacional de Educação [National Education Plan] in Brazil by analyzing documents relating to basic education and data from the Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio [National High School Exam] from 2014 to 2022. The results reveal disparities in student performance related to gender, color/race, type of school and region. The historical context of exclusion of black and indigenous people, the idea that women shouldn&#8217;t be in the field of exact sciences and access to schools for people with disabilities are some of the possible justifications. The conclusion is that significant challenges remain if effective and equal science education is to take place in the country.]]></p></abstract>
