O ditado (10 palavras e 1 sentença) foi aplicado em sala de aula, pelas professoras, e 356 alunos responderam individualmente. Os acertos em respostas escritas aumentaram significativamente do 2º ao 5º ano, mostrando-se sistematicamente maiores para palavras isoladas (médias por ano: 21,4%, 45,6%, 63,5% e 84,0%) do que para a sentença (médias: 5,7%, 26,9%, 47,8% e 73,6%), mas a diferença tendeu a diminuir nos últimos anos. Os resultados permitiram caracterizar a escrita dos alunos da escola e identificar alunos com dificuldades severas. A tarefa mostrou-se útil para avaliar a escrita de forma rápida, coletiva e com baixo custo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Este estudio evaluó el potencial de una tarea de dictado para medir la escritura de estudiantes de 2º a 5º primaria. El dictado (10 palabras y una oración) fue aplicado en el aula por las maestras, y 356 estudiantes respondieron individualmente. Los aciertos de las respuestas escritas aumentaron significativamente del 2º al 5º grado, siendo sistemáticamente mayores para palabras aisladas (promedios por curso: 21,4 %, 45,6 %, 63,5 % y 84,0 %) que para la oración (promedios: 5,7 %, 26,9 %, 47,8 % y 73,6 %), aunque la diferencia disminuyó en los últimos cursos. Los resultados ayudaron a caracterizar la escritura de los estudiantes y identificar casos con dificultades severas. La tarea demostró ser útil para evaluar la escritura de forma rápida, colectiva y económica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This study evaluated the potential of a dictation task to measure the writing skills of students from 2nd to 5th grade in elementary school. The dictation (10 words and one sentence) was administered in the classroom by teachers, and 356 students completed it individually. Accuracy in written responses increased significantly from 2nd to 5th grade, being consistently higher for isolated words (average percentages by grade: 21.4%, 45.6%, 63.5%, and 84.0%) than for the sentence (averages: 5.7%, 26.9%, 47.8%, and 73.6%), although this difference tended to decrease in the later years. The results allowed for the characterization of students&#8217; writing performance and identified those with severe difficulties. The task was useful for assessing writing quickly, collectively, and at low cost.]]></p></abstract>
