Categorizados os argumentos e analisados com base, principalmente, na obra Lukacsiana, esteve-se em busca de um entendimento mais aprofundado de uma recorrente resposta que reiterava que o trabalho &#233; "ser professora/ser professor", aplicada como modo acabado da profiss&#227;o do qual resulta um ser, diga-se, por percep&#231;&#227;o sem&#226;ntica, completo, enquanto se acredita haver um cont&#237;nuo movimento de fazer-se para ser, pois o ser social produz-se cotidianamente. Com base na categoria trabalho, Luk&#225;cs prop&#244;s um entendimento do ser social, explicando-o a partir do trabalho. <abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract To this text, we analyzed three applicants' excerpts in the speeches of ninety-eight teachers of the Central Region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, who participated in the interview in which the speakers answered questions about what is and how their work is characterized. After categorizing the arguments and analyzing them based mainly on the work of Luk&#225;cs, there was a search for a deeper understanding of an applicant's reply which reiterated that his/her work is "to be a teacher" applied to the profession as a whole from which a being arises, that is to say, by a semantic perception, complete, as it is believed to exist a continuous movement of making yourself in order to be yourself, because the social being produces himself daily. Based on the work category, Luk&#225;cs proposed an understanding of the social being, explaining it from work. The aim, then, in this text, is an understanding of the social being, explaining it from work, considering aspects expressed by the disclosure of the verb "to be" with the possibility of an ontological character.]]></p></abstract>
