<self-uri xlink:href="http://educa.fcc.org.br/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0104-40602019000600085&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://educa.fcc.org.br/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0104-40602019000600085&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://educa.fcc.org.br/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0104-40602019000600085&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa descritiva transversal realizada em uma universidade do centro-sul do Chile, na qual participam professores do Ensino Fundamental em formação e ativos, sobre representações gráficas por causa do papel que desempenham no processo de ensino e aprendizagem desde o primeiro ano do ensino básico no currículo escolar chileno. Para a coleta de informações foi aplicado um instrumento validado estatisticamente pelos autores no qual se obteve uma confiabilidade (alpha de Cronbach) de 0,78 que permitiu avaliar as habilidades de codificação e decodificação de informações quantitativas resumidas em representações gráficas univariadas e bivariadas, utilizando a taxonomia de Kimura (1999), cuja introdução no nível do sistema escolar geraria as habilidades exigidas pelo currículo nacional. Os resultados mostram que, em geral, os professores em formação e ativos têm percentuais médios elevados na capacidade básica de leitura de informações univariadas, resumidos em polígonos de frequência simples. No entanto, os percentuais diminuem para 61,3% nos futuros professores e para 50% nos docentes ativos por ser um histograma, representação amplamente utilizada para mostrar a distribuição de informações quantitativas em qualquer curso de estatística em nível nacional e internacional. Esses resultados, novidade no contexto chileno, permitem observar professores em formação e ativos não desenvolveram suficientemente a capacidade de realizar uma leitura conjunta de duas variáveis quantitativas resumidas por meio de uma representação gráfica, exigindo inovação em processos instrucionais que garantem uma melhoria no aprendizado.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This article presents the results of a cross-sectional descriptive research carried out in a university in south central Chile, in which teachers of Basic Education in training and in active participation, on graphic representations, due to the role they play in the teaching and learning process from the first year of Basic Education in the Chilean school curriculum. For the collection of information, an instrument validated statistically by the authors was applied, which showed a reliability (Cronbach's alpha) of 0.78, which allowed to evaluate the coding and decoding abilities of quantitative information summarized in univariate and bivariate graphical representations, making use of Kimura's taxonomy (1999), whose introduction at the school system level would generate the skills demanded by the national curriculum. The results show that, in general, teachers in training and active have high average percentages in the basic reading ability of univariate information, summarized in polygons of simple frequency. However, the percentages decrease to 61.3% in the future professors and to 50% in the professors in active, because it is a histogram, representation widely used to show the distribution of quantitative information in any course of statistics at national and international level. These results, novelty in the Chilean context, allow us to observe that the teachers in training and in active have not sufficiently developed the ability to make a joint reading of two quantitative variables summarized by means of a graphic representation, demanding innovation in the processes of instruction that guarantee an improvement in learning.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El presente artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación del tipo descriptiva de corte transversal realizada en una universidad del centro sur de Chile, en la que participaron profesores de Educación Básica en formación y en activo, sobre representaciones gráficas, debido al rol que ellas juegan en el proceso enseñanza y aprendizaje desde el primer año de enseñanza básica en el currículo escolar chileno. Para la recogida de información se aplicó un instrumento validado estadísticamente por los autores el cual arrojo una fiabilidad (alfa de Cronbach) de 0,78 que permitió evaluar las habilidades de codificación y descodificación de información cuantitativa resumida en representaciones gráficas univaridas y bivariadas, haciendo uso de la taxonomía de Kimura (1999), cuya introducción a nivel de sistema escolar generaría las habilidades que demanda el currículo nacional. Los resultados evidencian que, en general, los profesores en formación y activos presentan porcentajes promedios altos en la habilidad de lectura básica de información univariada, resumida en polígonos de frecuencia simple. No obstante, los porcentajes descienden al 61,3% en los futuros profesores y a un 50% en los profesores en activo al tratarse de un histograma, representación ampliamente utilizada para mostrar la distribución de información cuantitativa en cualquier curso de estadística a nivel nacional e internacional. Estos resultados, novedosos en el contexto chileno, permiten observar que los profesores en formación y en activo no han desarrollado suficientemente la habilidad de realizar una lectura conjunta de dos variables cuantitativas resumidas mediante en una representación gráfica, exigiendo la innovación en los procesos de instrucción que garanticen una mejora en los aprendizajes.]]></p></abstract>
