Contudo, em todos eles, defende que é imprescindível compreender a complexidade da profissão em todas as suas dimensões: teóricas, experienciais, culturais, políticas, ideológicas e simbólicas. Trata-se de um conhecimento profissional docente, um conhecimento contingente, coletivo e público. E é com base nesse conhecimento que ele afirma que se devem organizar novos modelos de formação docente: uma formação que garanta aos professores espaços e tempos para o desenvolvimento do autoconhecimento e da autorreflexão sobre as dimensões pessoais, profissionais e coletivas do professorado.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT To António Nóvoa, there are many ways to be a teacher: diverse options and pathways. However, in all of them, he defends the importance of understanding the complexity of the profession in all its dimensions: theoretical, experiential, cultural, political, ideological, and symbolic. Professional teaching knowledge is contingent, collective, and public. Based on this knowledge, he states that new models of teacher education should be organized in a preparation that guarantees teachers&#8217; spaces and times to develop self-knowledge and self-reflection on the personal, professional, and collective dimensions of teaching.]]></p></abstract>
