A mudan&#231;a que a escola confronta &#233; correlativa da mudan&#231;a em curso nas sociedades ocidentais - a passagem de sociedades de figurino predominantemente nacional e relativamente est&#225;veis na sua fisionomia sociocultural da primeira metade do s&#233;culo XX, &#224;s sociedades caracter&#237;sticas do p&#243;s anos 1960, crescentemente multiculturais e multi&#233;tnicas, numa sociedade global onde as fronteiras se esbatem, onde a circula&#231;&#227;o de informa&#231;&#227;o e de pessoas &#233; uma constante, onde os n&#237;veis de bem-estar subiram, mas os fen&#244;menos de exclus&#227;o se agravaram.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[It is undeniable that inter/multicultural education has become more important due in part to the phenomenon of racism in Europe that has been, in our point of view, caused by poorly regulated and non-integrating immigration policies, partly derived from the own blind logic of market associated with the phenomenon of globalization. The change the school is confronted with is a correlated to the ongoing change in Western societies - the passage of predominantly national companies that are relatively stable in its socio-cultural physiognomy of the first half of the 20th century to companies of the postwar years after the sixties which are increasingly multicultural and multiethnic societies in a global society where there are no borders and the circulation of information and people is a constant, where welfare levels have increased, but the phenomena of exclusion have exacerbated.]]></p></abstract>
