Sin embargo, diversos estudios han mostrado que el managerialismo promovido por este modelo, se vincula fuertemente con la promoción del autoritarismo como modo de gestión. Chile ha sido considerado un caso emblemático de implementación del Nuevo Management Público en educación. Este artículo aborda cómo el managerialismo constituye a la posición del director de escuela en el caso chileno mediante el análisis de dos políticas educativas recientes: el Marco para la Buena Enseñanza y el Liderazgo Directivo, y la reciente Ley que fortalece las facultades de los directores de los establecimientos educacionales en materia de convivencia escolar. Como se podrá apreciar, los resultados confirman que los límites entre managerialismo y autoritarismo resultan difusos. Esto debería preocupar a investigadores y gestores políticos, considerando la amplia difusión de los modelos manageriales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT New Public Management has become the main reference when it comes to building educational policies worldwide. However, various studies have shown that the managerialism promoted by this model is strongly linked to the promotion of authoritarianism as a management mode. Chile has been considered an emblematic case of implementation of the New Public Management in education. This article discusses how managerialism constitutes the position of the school director in the Chilean case through the analysis of two recent educational policies: the Framework for Good Teaching and Directive Leadership, and the recent Law that strengthens the faculties of principals of educational establishments in matters of school coexistence. As can be seen, the results confirm that the boundaries between managerialism and authoritarianism are blurred. This should worry researchers and political managers, considering the wide diffusion of managerial models.]]></p></abstract>

Entretanto, vários estudos mostraram que o gerencialismo promovido por esse modelo está fortemente ligado à promoção do autoritarismo como modo de gestão. O Chile tem sido considerado um caso emblemático de implementação da Nova Gestão Pública na educação. Este artigo discute como gerencialismo é a posição de diretor de escola no caso chileno, analisando duas políticas educacionais recentes: o Quadro para um bom ensino e liderança gerencial, e a recente Lei que reforça os poderes dos administradores de estabelecimentos de ensino em matéria de convivência escolar. Como veremos, os resultados confirmam que os limites entre gerencialismo e autoritarismo são indistintos. Isso deve preocupar pesquisadores e gestores políticos, considerando a ampla difusão de modelos gerenciais.]]></p></abstract>
