As reflexões consideram a formação docente em uma perspectiva histórica, no sentido de acompanhar seu percurso e evolução, assim como aspectos que abrangem as práticas pedagógicas e os efeitos na aprendizagem dos alunos. A profissão docente é carregada de desafios que exigem uma constante busca por conhecimentos adquiridos, sejam em ambientes formais ou no cotidiano. O professor, nesse contexto, se constrói e reconstrói entre teoria e prática, ensinar e aprender. Os debates referentes à dicotomia entre teoria e prática permanecem até os dias atuais, o que desperta para outras reflexões sobre a formação de professores e a busca de novas alternativas para velhos problemas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The article presents a discussion about Geography teaching, through training to teaching practices. The reflections consider teacher education in a historical perspective, in the sense of accompanying its path and evolution, as well as aspects that cover pedagogical practices and the effects on students' learning. The teaching profession is full of challenges that require a constant search for acquired knowledge, whether in formal or daily-based environments. The teacher, in this context, builds and rebuilds itself between theory and practice, teaching and learning. The debates about the dichotomy between theory and practice remain until the present day, which awakens to other reflections about the formation of teachers and the search for new alternatives to old problems.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El artículo presenta una discusión sobre la enseñanza de Geografía pasando por la formación hasta las prácticas docentes. Las reflexiones consideran la formación docente en una perspectiva histórica, en el sentido de acompañar su trayectoria y evolución, así como los aspectos que abarcan las prácticas pedagógicas y los efectos en el aprendizaje de los alumnos. La profesión docente está cargada de desafíos que exigen una constante búsqueda de conocimientos adquiridos, sea en ambientes formales o en el cotidiano. El profesor, en ese contexto, se construye y reconstruye entre teoría y práctica, enseñar y aprender. Los debates referentes a la dicotomía entre teoría y práctica permanecen hasta los días actuales, lo que despierta para otras reflexiones sobre la formación de profesores y la búsqueda de nuevas alternativas para viejos problemas.]]></p></abstract>
