Essas desigualdades sociais estão fundamentadas nas próprias divisões existentes na sociedade e que são, principalmente, de classe, de gênero e de etnia. As diferenças sociais são de duas ordens: interterritoriais e intraterritoriais. As desigualdades interterritoriais dependeriam, no plano supranacional, da divisão internacional do trabalho e, no nacional, das características geográficas e históricas do país e, em particular, do processo de formação e de consolidação do Estado. As intraterritoriais referir-se-iam à vida cotidiana do indivíduo e é nessa categoria que se colocam as diferenças de classe, gênero e etnia.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The study proposes to show that the central objective of education policies, equality in education, contrasts with its effective results: social inequality. The basis of these social disparities is the actual Revista Brasileira de Educação division that exists in society and which usually relates to class, gender and ethnic issues. Social differences are of two kinds: inter territorial and intra territorial. On a supra national plane, the inter territorial inequalities depend on the international division of labor and, on the national plane, on the geographical and historic characteristics of the country, and. in a special way, on the process of formation and consolidation of the State. The infra territorial ones would refer to the daily life of the individual, and it is in this category that the differences in class, gender and ethnic issues lie.]]></p></abstract>
