Examina os efeitos sociais produzidos pela presença no currículo escolar de um conjunto particular de conhecimentos. Problematiza como se produzem essas exclusões na "escola". Essa análise está muito fundamentada na trajetória da autora como educadora matemática, sobretudo pelos trabalhos de assessoria que prestou junto ao Setor de Educação do Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem- Terra do Rio Grande do Sul.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The exclusion produced by knowledge is analyzed among other new forms of social exclusion. The social effects produced by accumulated knowledge present in the school curriculum is examined. This analysis is very firmly established in the author's personal experience as a mathematics educator, especially in the advisory work rendered to the Educational Sector of the Movement of the Landless Rural Workers of Rio Grande do Sul.]]></p></abstract>
