Seu objetivo é conhecer os aspectos da Amazônia apresentados nesses livros. Os processos metodológicos desta investigação são fundamentados pelos princípios da pesquisa documental. A coleção Multiversos foi aprovada pelo PNLD em 2021 e é composta de seis livros didáticos da área das Ciências da Natureza e suas Tecnologias, e seis de Matemática e suas Tecnologias. Para as análises utilizou-se o método de Análise de Conteúdo, com apresentação e descrição das unidades de registro. Os resultados indicam que a Amazônia brasileira é abordada de forma insuficiente nos LDs, por vezes servindo apenas como contextualização para exercícios. Além disso, os livros didáticos tendem a destacar aspectos negativos, como queimadas e desmatamentos, em detrimento da riqueza cultural, social, natural e ecológica da região.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper aims to explore how the Brazilian Amazon is portrayed in middle-school science and mathematics textbooks. The research question guiding this study is: How is the Brazilian Amazon approached in middle school science and mathematics textbooks? The research methodology is based on documentary research principles, using the Multiversos collection approved by the Brazilian national textbook program (PNLD) in 2021. This collection consists of six textbooks in natural sciences and their technologies, as well as six in mathematics and their technologies. The content analysis method was used to analyze the textbooks, and the results indicate that Brazilian Amazon is inadequately addressed in the textbooks. It is often only used as a context for exercises, and the textbooks tend to focus on negative aspects, such as fires and deforestation, rather than highlight the cultural, social, natural, and ecological richness of the region.]]></p></abstract>
