Esta revisão sistemática selecionou e analisou uma amostra de 42 periódicos, publicados entre 2013 e 2023, classificados no estrato A do Qualis, nas áreas de ensino e educação, de acordo com os princípios do protocolo PRISMA-2020. Foram analisadas tanto a diversidade das experiências com a ABP, quanto as suas respectivas conclusões, que revelam aspectos positivos e desafiadores. Nos trabalhos, houve predominância de aspectos relacionados à aprendizagem conceitual, com orientações metodológicas concentradas em apenas um autor, bem como ancoradas em referenciais teóricos construtivistas. As evidências, consideradas promissoras, apontam que a metodologia apresenta flexibilidade para a sua implementação e resultados eficazes na aprendizagem de conteúdos e no desenvolvimento de competências pelos estudantes, considerando as singularidades do contexto educacional brasileiro.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper reviews the national literature on Project-based Learning (PBL) methodology, specifically in the context of science education at the elementary level. The systematic review selected and analyzed a sample of 42 journals published between 2013 and 2023, classified in Qualis stratum A in Teaching and Education, according to the PRISMA-2020 protocol. The analysis focused on experiences with this active learning methodology, and the conclusions revealed both positive and challenging aspects. The reviewed papers emphasized conceptual learning, with methodological guidelines based on Bender and rooted in constructivist theoretical frameworks. Overall, there is evidence that PBL is flexible in its implementation and also effective in enhancing student learning and skill development, particularly in light of the unique characteristics of the Brazilian educational context.]]></p></abstract>
