This text aims to describe and analyze the challenges of the mentoring work provided by the Pedagogical Support and Inclusion Center (NAPI) to university students with specific educational needs (SEN) who identify as having disabilities, at a university in the interior of São Paulo state. The services were offered remotely, during and after the Covid-19 pandemic, following the initial protocol for verifying specific support and retention needs to monitor the students&#8217; academic progress. Data collection was carried out through an analysis of written records by mentors and notes from field diaries documenting the support provided to students with SEN. The collected material was analyzed based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Aguiar and Ozella&#8217;s Signification Framework. The data was grouped into three main themes: 1) Review of the term SEN in the university&#8217;s institutional policies; 2) Didactic-pedagogical strategies used in the classroom setting; and 3) Challenges reported by the mentors regarding their duties in the program. The results highlighted aspects of the contributions of mentoring work to the development of the individuals involved, aligning with the university&#8217;s inclusive institutional policies. However, the adoption of an intersectional perspective in the observed practice led to an evolution in the analyzed policies and literature, pointing to a transformative process in inclusive practices at the university.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo O desenvolvimento de políticas afirmativas inclusivas tem fomentado o debate e a reflexão em torno do índice de matrícula de coletivos considerados em situação de vulnerabilidade na universidade, em uma mirada interseccional sobre o tema. Posto isso, o texto objetiva descrever e analisar os desafios do trabalho de monitoria oferecido pelo Núcleo de Atenção Pedagógica e Inclusão (NAPI), a universitários que apresentam necessidades educacionais específicas - NEE e que se reconhecem na situação de deficiência, em uma universidade do interior do estado de São Paulo. Os atendimentos foram realizados remotamente, durante e após o período da pandemia de Covid-19, seguindo-se o protocolo inicial de verificação de demandas específicas de suporte e permanência para acompanhar os estudos na universidade. A coleta de dados ocorreu por meio da análise dos registros escritos dos monitores e de anotações realizadas nos diários de campo dos atendimentos ofertados aos estudantes com NEE. Analisou-se o material recolhido, com base nos pressupostos teórico-metodológicos de Núcleos de Significação de Aguiar e Ozella. Agruparam-se os dados produzidos em três núcleos: 1) Revisão do termo NEE nas políticas institucionais da universidade; 2) Estratégias didático-pedagógicas utilizadas no cenário de aulas e 3) Desafios retratados pelos monitores referentes as suas atribuições no programa. Os resultados evidenciaram aspectos das contribuições do trabalho de monitoria na formação dos envolvidos, estando estes em consonância com políticas institucionais inclusivas da Universidade. Todavia, a adoção de uma perspectiva interseccional, na práxis observada, constituiu um devir nas políticas e literaturas analisadas.]]></p></abstract>
