The study is based on the premises of the Historical-Cultural Theory (HCT) of human psychic development, whose founder and main representative is Lev S. Vigotski; it is also based on the premises of Magda Soares on letramento and literacy. This is a qualitative case study. A 7-year-old girl with a severe form of the Syndrome, attending the second year of elementary school at a regular public school, took part in the research. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with the parents, the teacher and the student&#8217;s tutor, as well as a developmental survey with the participant at the beginning and end of the research process. During the research process, interventional activities were carried out on the constructs of play, letramento and alphabetization, inspired by Magda Soares&#8217; book Alfaletrar. The analysis of the data showed that learning and development occurred to the extent that stimuli adapted to the participant&#8217;s developmental level were offered, as she moved from the manipulative play phase to symbolic play with emerging letramento and writing the first letter of her name. It can be concluded that learning occurs when intervention activities are intentional and meet the individual development of the subject.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Este artigo trata de uma pesquisa que tem por objetivo discutir o processo de introdução ao sistema alfabético da língua portuguesa escrita com uma criança com desenvolvimento atípico &#8211; forma grave da Síndrome da Duplicação da Banda q11.2 do Cromossomo 22 (SDup22q11.2), a partir do brincar simbólico e letramento, ao longo do acompanhamento psicopedagógico. O estudo é embasado nas premissas da Teoria Histórico-Cultural (THC) do desenvolvimento psíquico humano, cujo fundador e principal representante é Lev S. Vigotski; ademais, fundamenta-se também nas premissas de Magda Soares sobre letramento e alfabetização. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, do tipo Estudo de Caso. Participou da pesquisa uma menina de 7 anos com a forma grave da Síndrome, cursando o segundo ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola pública regular. Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com os pais, com a professora e com a monitora da pesquisanda, bem como uma sondagem de desenvolvimento com a participante no início e final do processo de pesquisa. Durante o processo de pesquisa, foram conduzidas atividades interventivas nos construtos brincar, letramento e alfabetização, inspiradas no livro Alfaletrar, de Magda Soares. Na análise dos dados, constatou-se que a aprendizagem e o desenvolvimento ocorreram na medida da oferta dos estímulos adaptados ao nível de desenvolvimento da participante, que passou da fase do brincar manipulatório para o brincar simbólico com letramento emergente e escrevendo a primeira letra do seu nome. Conclui-se que a aprendizagem ocorre quando as atividades interventivas são intencionais e vão ao encontro do desenvolvimento individual do sujeito.]]></p></abstract>
