Este texto aborda os processos de constru&#231;&#227;o de si vivenciados por filhos de pais e m&#227;es que exercem a doc&#234;ncia como profiss&#227;o, num universo de 40 fam&#237;lias investigadas por meio de metodologia qualitativa. Os resultados mostram que os pais professores se mobilizam intensamente para favorecer a escolariza&#231;&#227;o dos filhos, mas essa mobiliza&#231;&#227;o e os seus impactos na forma&#231;&#227;o dos filhos n&#227;o se d&#227;o de modo homog&#234;neo nas diferentes fam&#237;lias. A origem social, as condi&#231;&#245;es de exist&#234;ncia, as experi&#234;ncias docentes e as diferentes din&#226;micas familiares modulam as pr&#225;ticas educativas dos pais professores e impactam sua rela&#231;&#227;o com a vida escolar dos filhos, assim como produzem efeitos diferentes na vida das crian&#231;as, que vivenciam uma tens&#227;o constante entre a constru&#231;&#227;o de si e a busca do sucesso escolar. ]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  The present study is part of a set of studies conducted since 2008 on the effects of being a teacher on the family dynamics and educational practices and the children's educational trajectories. A group of 40 families participated in this qualitative study that aimed to discuss the processes of construction of the self experienced by the children of parents who are teachers. The results showed that, in general, teacher-parents constantly endeavor to promote the education of their children, but this effort and its impact on the children's schooling vary greatly. Social origin, objective conditions of existence, teaching experiences and the family dynamics shape educational practices and impact the relationship they establish with the school life of their children. This, in turn, produces different effects on the lives of children who experience a constant tension between the construction of themselves and school success. ]]></p></abstract>
