Considerando a surdez como diferença linguística, este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender as concepções sobre educação bilíngue e inclusão dos professores de alunos surdos na educação infantil, relacionando práticas pedagógicas, a Língua Brasileira de Sinais e o desenvolvimento. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de caráter qualitativo, tendo como instrumento de coleta de dados um questionário online. Participaram da pesquisa 15 professores ouvintes que atuam ou atuaram em salas de educação infantil com a presença de um ou mais alunos surdos em escolas da rede pública do Estado de São Paulo no período de 2016 a 2020. As análises são fundamentadas na abordagem histórico-cultural, a partir de trechos das respostas, proporcionando discussões sobre a realidade educacional de alunos surdos quanto ao modelo educacional, considerando a proposta inclusiva e o modelo bilíngue. Os resultados indicam que a satisfação escolar ainda é pautada apenas na inserção de surdos em escolas, mesmo que essas não promovam transformações efetivas no ensino e que não tenham metodologias e práticas pautadas na Língua Brasileira de Sinais. Assim, há falta de conhecimento da Língua Brasileira de Sinais como a primeira língua dos alunos surdos e como a língua de instrução na educação e centralidade no desenvolvimento.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The inclusive education system in Brazil presents several challenges, the main ones being related to a social organization - from dominant values and conceptions to the most appropriate means for quality education for all. Considering deafness as a linguistic difference, this work aims to understand the conceptions about bilingual education and inclusion by teachers of deaf students in early childhood education, relating pedagogical practices, Libras and development. This is qualitative research, with the online questionnaire as the collection data collection instrument. The participants are 15 hearing teachers who work or have worked in Early Childhood Education classrooms with one or more deaf students in state public schools in São Paulo, from 2016 to 2020. The analyses are based on the cultural-historical approach, from excerpts of the answers, providing discussions about the educational reality of deaf students regarding the educational model, and considering the inclusive proposal and the bilingual model. The results indicate that school satisfaction is still based only on the insertion of deaf people in schools, not promoting effective changes in education, which have methodologies and practices based on Libras. Thus, there is a lack of knowledge of Libras as the first language of deaf students, as the language of instruction in education, and as centrality in development.]]></p></abstract>
