Apoia-se em estudos do campo das narrativas e do círculo de Bakhtin. A pesquisa foi realizada com quatro professores (três professores de matemática e uma pedagoga) que atuam no sistema de Educação Carcerária no estado de São Paulo. A análise foi realizada em duas unidades temáticas: influência familiar nas trajetórias docentes; e marcas deixadas pelo racismo e a mobilização para atuar no sistema carcerário. Conclui-se que, apesar das condições de trabalho, os docentes sentem que podem contribuir para a ressocialização de pessoas privadas de liberdade e fazem o melhor que podem em suas ações.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article aims to highlight the potential of Narrative Interview (NI) as a data production device for research and discuss its potential as a listening instrument for teachers whose practices are marginalized by public policies. It is supported by studies in the field of narratives and Bakhtin&#8217;s circle. The research was conducted with four teachers (three mathematics teachers and one pedagogue) who work in the Prison Education system in the state of São Paulo state. The analysis was conducted in two thematic units: family influence on teaching trajectories; and marks left by racism and mobilization to work in the prison system. It is concluded that teachers, despite their working conditions, feel they can contribute to the social reintegration of incarcerated individuals and do their best in their actions.]]></p></abstract>
