Combinando duas fontes de dados nacionais: números do censo provincial e nacional do Instituto Nacional de Estatística/INE (2007; 2015; 2017a) e dados do Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia, Ensino Superior e Técnico Profissional (MCTESTP), entre 2010 e 2015, estima-se a presença das mulheres em áreas específicas como tecnologia da informação, engenharia e saúde. Os resultados revelam maior participação das mulheres na capital Maputo; os indicadores de desenvolvimento socioeconômico e urbanização são preditores positivos à maior participação das mulheres nos cursos de saúde, mas preveem negativamente sua atuação em tecnologias de informação e engenharias.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The article analyzes how (technological) development affects women's participation in enrollment in specific areas of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Agriculture and Health (CNEAS) in higher education, based on socioeconomic indicators. Combining two national data sources: provincial and national census figures from theNational Institute of Statistics/INE (2007;2015;2017a) and data from the Ministry of Science, Technology, Higher Education and Professional Technical (MCTESTP), between 2010 and 2015, estimates women's participation in specific areas such as information technology, engineering and health. The results indicate greater participation of women in the capital Maputo; the indicators of socioeconomic development and urbanization are positive predictors of greater participation of women in health courses, but negatively predict their participation in Information Technologies and engineering.]]></p></abstract>
