Com base em uma pesquisa exploratória e descritiva que analisou a presença das secretarias na internet nos primeiros três meses da pandemia no Brasil, destacamos o papel das redes sociais digitais como uma das alternativas de comunicação encontradas pelas secretarias de educação para manter a relação com os alunos. Os dados mostraram uma crise em curso com falta de interações e de espaço colaborativo. Nos resultados, as dificuldades de acesso às tecnologias foram ressaltadas como importantes obstáculos na implementação do ensino pela internet, e as redes sociais se mostraram mais como locais de desabafos e reclamações do que como espaços colaborativos e de aprendizagem.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This study explores how Brazilian state education departments turned to the internet to address the social distancing caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on an exploratory and descriptive study that analyzed the presence of departments on the internet during the first three months of the pandemic in Brazil, the study highlights the role of digital social networks as the primary communication alternative found by education secretariats to sustain their relationship with students. The data revealed an ongoing crisis with a lack of interaction and collaborative space. The results emphasized difficulties in accessing technologies which posed significant obstacles to the successful implementation of online education, and social networks were predominantly perceived as channels for expressing frustrations and grievances rather than collaborative and learning spaces.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este estudio explora cómo los departamentos de educación estatales brasileños recurrieron a Internet para enfrentar el distanciamiento social causado por la pandemia de Covid-19. A partir de un estudio exploratorio y descriptivo que analizó la presencia de los departamentos en internet durante los primeros tres meses de la pandemia en Brasil, el estudio destaca el papel de las redes sociales digitales como la primera alternativa de comunicación encontrada por las secretarías de educación para mantener la relación con estudiantes. Los datos mostraron una crisis en curso con falta de interacción y espacio colaborativo. Los resultados enfatizaron las dificultades para acceder a las tecnologías como obstáculos significativos para implementar la educación en línea, y las redes sociales fueron vistas más como puntos de desahogo y quejas que como espacios colaborativos y de aprendizaje.]]></p></abstract>
