Ao longo do texto, tem-se como objetivo demonstrar a import&#226;ncia de operar com este conceito tendo em vista, principalmente, os processos de mercadifica&#231;&#227;o pelo qual vem passando a educa&#231;&#227;o em um n&#237;vel global e a educa&#231;&#227;o brasileira em particular. Para tanto, s&#227;o analisados, &#224; luz de tal conceito, dois exemplos de pol&#237;ticas curriculares para a Educa&#231;&#227;o Fundamental. Um dos exemplos analisados relaciona-se com pol&#237;ticas baseadas em pressupostos de mercado e com a tentativa de padronizar o curr&#237;culo das anos iniciais no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul atrav&#233;s da ado&#231;&#227;o de sistemas de ensino. O outro exemplo examinado concretizou-se na cidade de Porto Alegre e contrap&#245;e-se aos processos de mercadifica&#231;&#227;o. A partir destas an&#225;lises, demonstra-se a import&#226;ncia do uso do conceito de justi&#231;a social para trazer &#224; cena as injusti&#231;as estruturais no &#226;mbito educacional e que se relacionam &#224;s pol&#237;ticas de mercado, bem como uma alternativa vi&#225;vel a essas pol&#237;ticas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This paper defends the use of social justice - from the contributions of Gewirtz and Young - as a concept in educational analysis. The goal is to demonstrate the importance of operating with this concept, particularly in the context of market-based policies in education currently in place both globally and in Brazil. With this goal, two examples of curricular policies for Elementary Education are analyzed in light of this concept. One of the examined examples are policies based on market assumptions, aiming at standardizing the curriculum of the first grades of elementary education in the State of Rio Grande do Sul through the adoption of scripted educational systems. The other example is the case of the Citizen School in the city of Porto Alegre which provides a contrast to the processes of marketization in education. Using these examples, we demonstrate the importance of using the concept of social justice to highlight the structural injustices in the educational sphere, injustices which are enhanced by the introduction of market-based policies in education, and to provide viable alternatives to these policies.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Este texto tiene como objetivo defender la incorporaci&#243;n del concepto de justicia social - utilizado a partir de las contribuciones de Gewirtz y Young - en los an&#225;lisis educativos. A lo largo del texto, se tiene como objetivo demostrar la importancia de operar con este concepto en vista, principalmente, de los procesos de mercadifica&#231;&#227;o por el cual viene pasando la educaci&#243;n en un nivel global y la educaci&#243;n brasile&#241;a en particular. Para ello, son analizados, a la luz de este concepto dos ejemplos de pol&#237;ticas curriculares para la Educaci&#243;n Fundamental. Uno de los ejemplos analizados se relaciona con pol&#237;ticas basadas en supuestos de mercado y, con el intento de estandarizar el curr&#237;culo de las series iniciales en el Estado de Rio Grande do Sul por intermedio de la adopci&#243;n de sistemas de ense&#241;anza. El otro ejemplo examinado se concret&#243; en la ciudad de Porto Alegre y se contrapone a los procesos de mercadifica&#231;&#227;o. A partir de estos an&#225;lisis, se demuestra la importancia del uso del concepto de justicia social para traer a la escena las injusticias estructurales, en el &#225;mbito educativo y que se relacionan con las pol&#237;ticas de mercado, as&#237; como una alternativa viable a esas pol&#237;ticas.]]></p></abstract>
