Esta pol&#237;tica tem sofrido muitas contesta&#231;&#245;es no seio da sociedade pelo facto de os alunos progredirem de classe sem terem obtido as compet&#234;ncias preconizadas no plano curricular. O objectivo geral do estudo &#233; analisar as tens&#245;es e os desafios da avalia&#231;&#227;o por ciclos de aprendizagem no EB de Mo&#231;ambique. A metodologia usada baseia-se na pesquisa bibliogr&#225;fica e documental. A pesquisa conclui que n&#227;o foram criadas as condi&#231;&#245;es necess&#225;rias para a implementa&#231;&#227;o da pol&#237;tica de progress&#227;o por ciclos de aprendizagem em Mo&#231;ambique, sendo necess&#225;rio, portanto, melhorar aspectos como a sua divulga&#231;&#227;o, as condi&#231;&#245;es de funcionamento das escolas e a forma&#231;&#227;o de professores, de modo a praticarem efectivamente a avalia&#231;&#227;o formativa.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This paper discusses the policy of cycles of learning (non retention policies) introduced by the last curricular reform in Basic Education (BE) in Mozambique in 2004. This policy has faced many objections within the society due to the fact that the students are promoted from one class to another without having acquired the competences proposed in the curricular plan. The main objective of this study was to analyze the tension and challenges of the evaluation in learning cycles in BE in Mozambique. The methodology used was based on bibliographic and documental survey. The research concluded that the necessary conditions for the implementation of the progression politics in the learning cycles in Mozambique were not created. Therefore, it is necessary to improve aspects such as policy dissemination, schools functioning conditions and teachers&#8217; education, so that formative assessment can be applied effectively.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Este art&#237;culo discute la pol&#237;tica de progresi&#243;n por ciclos de aprendizaje introducida en la &#250;ltima reforma curricular de la Ense&#241;anza B&#225;sica (EB) en Mozambique, en 2004. Esta pol&#237;tica ha sufrido muchas contestaciones en el seno de la sociedad por el hecho de que los alumnos progresen de clase sin obtener las competencias preconizadas en el plano curricular. El objetivo general del estudio es analizar las tensiones y los desaf&#237;os de la evaluaci&#243;n por ciclos de aprendizaje en el EB de Mozambique. La metodolog&#237;a utilizada se basa en la investigaci&#243;n bibliogr&#225;fica y documental. La investigaci&#243;n concluye que no se crearon las condiciones necesarias para la aplicaci&#243;n de la pol&#237;tica de progresi&#243;n por ciclos de aprendizaje en Mozambique, por lo que es necesario mejorar aspectos como su divulgaci&#243;n, las condiciones de funcionamiento de las escuelas y la formaci&#243;n de profesores, a practicar efectivamente la evaluaci&#243;n formativa.]]></p></abstract>
