Buscou-se compreender, a partir de Arendt, Biesta e Savater, no que consiste a Educação e qual é o caráter da escola. Refletiu-se sobre as distinções e os papéis educacionais das esferas privada e pública e o lugar da escola entre elas, assim como sobre o que significa uma efetiva Educação. Concluiu-se que, embora possam se confirmar as afirmações de que a Educação Domiciliar apresentaria melhores performances acadêmicas, apenas a escola pode oferecer condições para uma efetiva Educação, porque só na escola é possível criar oportunidades relativamente seguras para o contágio pelo que é outro e para a inserção adulta no mundo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Faced with the growth of the theme of Homeschooling in the Brazilian political scenario and the presentation of Bills to regulate the practice, this paper intended, based on a theoretical investigation, to reflect on the possibilities of &#8220;schoolless education&#8221; in the contemporary world. It sought to understand, from Arendt, Biesta and Savater, what Education consists of and what is the character of the school. It reflected on the distinctions and educational roles of the private and public spheres and the place of school between them, as well as what effective education means. It concluded that, although the affirmations that homeschooling would have better academic performances could be confirmed, only the school can offer conditions for an effective Education, because only at school it is possible to create relatively safe opportunities for the contagion of what other is and for the adult insertion in the world.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Delante del crecimiento de la temática de la Educación Domiciliaria en el escenario político brasileño y de la presentación de Proyectos de Ley para regular la práctica, este artículo pretendió, con una investigación teórica, reflexionar sobre las posibilidades de &#8220;educación sin escuela&#8221; en el mundo contemporáneo. Se intentó comprender, a partir de Arendt, Biesta y Savater, en qué consiste la Educación y cuál es el carácter de la escuela. Se reflexionó sobre las distinciones y los roles educativos de las esferas pública y privada y el lugar de la escuela entre ellas, así como sobre lo que significa una Educación efectiva. Se concluyó que, aunque se puedan confirmar las afirmaciones de que la Educación Domiciliaria presentaría un mejor rendimiento académico, sólo la escuela puede ofrecer condiciones para una Educación efectiva, porque sólo en la escuela es posible crear oportunidades relativamente seguras para el contagio por lo que es otro y para la inserción adulta en el mundo.]]></p></abstract>
