Foram analisadas publicações entre 2007 e 2017 dos Grupos de Trabalho (GTs) das Reuniões Nacionais da Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Educação (ANPEd) e dos periódicos Revista Brasileira de Educação (RBE), Educação &amp; Sociedade, Cadernos de Pesquisa - Fundação Carlos Chagas, Estudos em Avaliação Educacional e Revista Brasileira de Política e Administração da Educação (RBPAE). Encontraram-se 140 estudos com objetivos e/ou resultados relacionados à gestão democrática e à rede pública de Educação Básica, dos quais apenas dois estimam o impacto da gestão democrática. Embora os estudos apontem efeitos negativos da indicação de diretores por políticos e efeitos positivos do processo de seleção e eleição, seus desenhos de pesquisa são frágeis e as ameaças à validade interna dificultam inferir qualquer relação de causalidade.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The paper deals with a systematic review about the impacts of democratic management of public schools in the learning of students and/or in any other aspects of school work. We've analyzed papers between 2007 and 2017 from the work groups (GTs) of the national meetings of the &#8220;Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Educação&#8221; (ANPEd) and from the journals &#8220;Revista Brasileira de Educação (RBE), &#8220;Educação &amp; Sociedade&#8221;, &#8220;Cadernos de Pesquisa - Fundação Carlos Chagas&#8221;, &#8220;Estudos em Avaliação Educacional&#8221; and &#8220;Revista Brasileira de Política e Administração da Educação&#8221; (RBPAE). A total of 140 studies were found with objectives and/or results related to democratic management and the public basic education system, from which only two measure the impact of democratic management. Even though the studies point out negative aspects of a principal's appointment by politicians and positive effects in the process of choice and election, its research desings are fragile and threats to internal validity make it difficult to infer any causal relation.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El trabajo realiza una revisión sistemática sobre los impactos de la gestión democrática de las escuelas públicas en el aprendizage de los estudiantes y/o en otras dimensiónes del trabajo escolar. Fueron analizados los trabajos entre 2007 y 2017 de los Grupos de Trabajo (GTs) de los encuentros nacionales de la &#8220;Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Educação&#8221; (ANPEd) y de las revistas &#8220;Revista Brasileira de Educação&#8221; (RBE), &#8220;Educação &amp; Sociedade&#8221;, &#8220;Cadernos de Pesquisa - Fundação Carlos Chagas, &#8220;Estudos em Avaliação Educacional&#8221; y &#8220;Revista Brasileira de Política e Administração da Educação&#8221; (RBPAE).
