Este exercício decorre dos trabalhos em que temos estado envolvidas ao longo dos últimos anos, quer na formação de professores, quer em projectos de investigação que temos vindo a realizar neste domínio. Mais concretamente, reflectimos sobre o processo de tornar-se professor, a natureza complexa e problemática do ensino, a teoria e a prática na formação inicial e o papel da investigação e da reflexão e ainda o papel e influência dos formadores de professores. Terminamos com algumas pistas que poderão ser objecto de maior investigação e reflexão no futuro.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This paper discusses a number of reflections on what are considered to be key issues in initial teacher education. Drawing upon work carried out in the context of teacher education and in research over the last years, this paper analyses the process of becoming a teacher, the complex and problematic nature of teaching, theory and practice in initial teacher education and the role of research and reflection, and the role and influence of teacher educators. The paper concludes with some aspects that might be developed further in the context of educational research.]]></p></abstract>
