Tanto a pré-história dessa crítica quanto as políticas das últimas décadas revelam uma continuidade da orientação pedagógica que, desde o conceito do capital humano até os critérios de competência e de adaptação às demandas da economia e da tecnologia em permanente transformação, perde de vista o homem. Ao invés de focar em competências humanas imediatamente aproveitáveis, o autor pleiteia em favor da formação universal, convencido ser essa a melhor condição para se enfrentar os desafios da dinâmica inscrita ao mundo moderno.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The essay reconstructs the history of the German education system reforms, choosing the famous Heinz-Joachim Heydorn's critique in the 1970s as the centerline of the argument. Not only the pre-history of this critique but also the policies of the last decades would reveal a continuity of pedagogical orientation that, from the concept of human capital to the criteria of competency and adaptation to the demands of the ever-changing economy and technology, loses sight of man. Instead of focusing on immediately useful human competencies, the author advocates for universal education, convinced this is the best condition to cope with the challenges from the dynamics contained within the modern world.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: El ensayo reconstruye la historia de las reformas del sistema educativo alemán, eligiendo como eje de argumentación la famosa crítica de Heinz-Joachim Heydorn, de los años 70. Tanto la prehistoria de esa crítica como las políticas de las últimas décadas revelarían una continuidad en la orientación pedagógica que, desde el concepto de capital humano hasta los criterios de competencia y adaptación a las demandas de la economía y la tecnología en permanente transformación, pierden de vista al ser humano. En vez de focalizar en competencias humanas inmediatamente aprovechables, el autor se posiciona a favor de la formación universal, convencido de que es esa la mejor condición para enfrentar los desafíos de la dinámica inscripta en el mundo moderno.]]></p></abstract>
