No entanto, apenas nas últimas décadas tem aumentado o interesse pela realização de pesquisas com crianças buscando apreender a sua perspectiva sobre os variados temas que lhes afetam. Uma das estratégias utilizadas em pesquisas com crianças tem sido a adaptação do Procedimento de Desenho-Estória (D-E), um instrumento de investigação da clínica psicológica criado pelo psicanalista Walter Trinca (1997). Na área da Educação de crianças, a partir da experiência pioneira de Cruz (1987), várias pesquisas fizeram uso dessa adaptação, realizando as modificações consideradas necessárias para os objetivos das pesquisas (por exemplo, Andrade, 2007; Araújo, 2017; Santos, 2015). A utilização desse procedimento em pesquisas com crianças tem indicado as suas grandes contribuições para ampliar o conhecimento sobre elas próprias (as crianças) e temas relativos à sua experiência escolar, ao passo que alguns desafios têm sido colocados aos pesquisadores tanto na aplicação como na avaliação dos dados produzidos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Since the beginning of the 20th century, children have become object of research, as awareness has increased that greater knowledge about childhood processes could clarify aspects of adult human beings (Smolka, 2002). However, only in recent decades, interest in carrying out research with children has increased, seeking to understand their perspective on the various topics that affect them. One of the strategies used in research with children has been the adaptation of the Drawing-Story Procedure, a psychological clinical research instrument created by psychoanalyst Walter Trinca (1997). In the area of Early Childhood Education, based on the pioneering experience of Cruz (1987), several studies made use of this adaptation, making the modifications considered necessary for the research objectives (for example, Andrade, 2007; Araújo, 2017; Santos, 2015). The use of this procedure in research with children has indicated its great contributions to expanding knowledge about children themselves and topics related to their school experience, while some challenges have been posed to researchers both in the application and in the evaluation of the data produced.]]></p></abstract>
