<self-uri xlink:href="http://educa.fcc.org.br/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1981-25822024000100403&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://educa.fcc.org.br/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1981-25822024000100403&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://educa.fcc.org.br/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1981-25822024000100403&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo: Este artigo, em um estudo exploratório de caráter qualitativo, tem por objetivo analisar a internacionalização da educação superior e os desafios para o desenvolvimento sustentável, por meio de um estudo bibliográfico e documental das conferências mundiais e regionais de educação superior, realizadas no marco da atuação da UNESCO, entre 1996 e 2024. Entre as descobertas da pesquisa destaca-se o fato de que o conceito de educação adotado pela UNESCO, encontra-se vinculado à concepção de crescimento econômico e de desenvolvimento do país. Esta visão do campo educativo encontra-se presente em quase todos os documentos publicados pelo organismo internacional. Em 2015, a ONU aprovou os 17 Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável e a partir desse momento, os esforços centraram-se na consecução dos ODS e da Agenda 2030. Neste cenário, a internacionalização, em sua concepção latino-americana, ou seja, "humanista e solidária", baseada em redes colaborativas, pode contribuir para o avanço do ODS 4, no que diz respeito à educação inclusiva, equitativa e de qualidade. Nesta linha de raciocínio advinda de tensões entre globalização e regionalismo destaca-se a importância de analisar as proposições da UNESCO para a educação, que se inclinam pela realização de reformas similares nos sistemas educativos mundiais diversos e avaliar o ponto de convergência entre tais proposições globais e o respeito à soberania regional/nacional e quais são as bases para que isso ocorra.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This paper &#8211; an exploratory and qualitative study &#8211; aims to analyze the internationalization of Higher Education and the challenges to its sustainable development by means of a bibliographical and documental study. The study approaches the world and regional conferences on Higher Education, organized within UNESCO's framework for action between 1996 and 2024. Among the discoveries of the research one of the highlights is the fact that the concept of education adopted by UNESCO is related to the understanding of economic growth and national development. This perspective on the educational field is presented in almost every document published by the international organization. In 2015, UN approved the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and from this moment onwards, the effort was centered in the accomplishment of the SDG and 2023 Agenda. In the scenario, the conception of a Latin American internationalization &#8211; "humanist and sympathetic" &#8211; based on collaborative networks may contribute to advances on the SDG 4, particularly regarding an inclusive, equitable and quality education. In this line of reasoning, which emerges from tensions between globalization and regionalism, stands out the importance of analyzing UNESCO's propositions for education. These propositions are drawn to similar reforms within many global educational systems and to evaluate the convergence point between such global propositions and the respect for the regional/national sovereignty, and which are the bases for that to happen.]]></p></abstract>
