Subdividem a sua abordagem sobre o tema em duas partes, a saber: explicitam exigências legais e a legislação específica sobre a formação de professores de ER e apontam experiências e alternativas encontradas em nível nacional e em diferentes estados para a formação de professores de ER. O artigo culmina com ‘provocações’ finais, apontando considerações e reivindicações em termos de encaminhamentos em relação à formação inicial e continuada de professores de ER.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The authors discourse about three fundamental and interconnected aspects in Religious Education (RE): the legal support for the above mentioned curricular component, the definition of contents and the specific training of teachers. The approach to the theme is subdivided into two parts: explanation of the legal requirements and of the specific legislation about the training of RE teachers and a presentation of experiences and alternatives encountered at the national level and in different states relating to the training of RE teachers. The article culminates with final ‘pro-vocations’ pointing out considerations and demands in terms of procedures with regards to the initial and continuing education of RE teachers.]]></p></abstract>
