Seus estudos desencadearam uma crítica radical sobre os princípios da escola republicana. A escola se constituiu, portanto, no alvo privilegiado de algumas de suas principais obras (Os herdeiros, 1964; A reprodução, 1970; Homo academicus, 1984; A nobreza de Estado, 1989) e sempre ocupou um lugar importante nas demais. Nosso objetivo neste trabalho consiste em revisitar reflexões teóricas que permanecem relevantes no desvelamento das lógicas que movem as estratégias de reprodução social e que estão nos discursos sobre a democratização da educação.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Pierre Bourdieu dedicated himself to an analysis of the French educational system and revealed the distance between actual school educational practices and the model conceived by educational policies. His studies inspire a radical criticism of the principles of the republican school. The school was therefore a privileged target of some of his main works (“The inheritors”, 1964; “Reproduction”, 1970; “Homo academicus”, 1984; “The State nobility”, 1989) and always occupied an important role in the others. The purpose of this study is to review theoretical reflections that remain relevant to unveiling the logics that guide the strategies for social reproduction and that are found in the discourses about the democratization of education.]]></p></abstract>
