Objetivou-se identificar o engajamento estudantil e entender os desafios que os estudantes enfrentam ao estudar a partir de um modelo pedagógico inovador. Os dados foram construídos através de um grupo focal, dos diários de aprendizagem dos estudantes e da aplicação de uma escala de envolvimento. Para analisar os dados, utilizou-se a análise teórica para descobrir as conexões entre os resultados e descrevendo os achados. Os resultados apontaram que uma pequena parcela dos estudantes prefere o ensino tradicional, cerca de 14%. Porém, a maioria admitiu ter se engajado mais estudando por meio desse modelo pedagógico, mesmo tendo que superar desafios diários. Eles afirmaram que não desejariam voltar ao modelo tradicional, pois sentiram que suas aprendizagens foram mais profundas e significativas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article presents the results of a research conducted from February to June 2019, which sought to know how 50 higher education students in technology courses are involved in their education through blended education. The aim was to identify student engagement and to understand the challenges students face in studying an innovative pedagogical model. The data were constructed through a focus group, the students' learning diaries and the application of the engagement scale. To analyze the data, we use theoretical analysis to discover the connections between the results and describing the findings. The results indicated that a small portion of the students prefer traditional education, about 14%. However, the majority admitted having engaged more studying through this pedagogical model, even having to overcome daily challenges. They said they would not want to go back to the traditional model because they felt that their learning was deeper and more meaningful.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación realizada entre febrero y junio de 2019, que buscaba saber cómo 50 estudiantes de educación superior en cursos de tecnología participan en su educación a través de la enseñanza híbrida. El objetivo era identificar el compromiso de los estudiantes y comprender los desafíos que ellos enfrentan al estudiar en un modelo pedagógico innovador. Los datos se construyeron a través de un grupo focal, los diarios de aprendizaje de los estudiantes y la aplicación de la escala de compromiso. Para analizar los datos, utilizamos el análisis teórico para descubrir las conexiones entre los resultados y la descripción de los resultados. Los resultados indicaron que una pequeña porción de los estudiantes prefiere la educación tradicional, alrededor del 14%. Sin embargo, la mayoría admitió haber estudiado más a través de este modelo pedagógico, incluso teniendo que superar los desafíos diarios. Dijeron que no querían volver al modelo tradicional porque sentían que su aprendizaje era más profundo y más significativo.]]></p></abstract>
