Pedro II, registrados em suas missivas, diários e cadernos (1856/1864). A pesquisa histórico-documental tem como principal fonte farta documentação, contendo registros de ensinamentos e conselhos para a educação das princesas, cartas e ego-documentos. O estudo abordou as concepções de educação que a Condessa evidenciava em suas cartas, demonstrando o comportamento da aristocracia brasileira e em um plano mais específico, apresentou a forma em que a preceptora desenvolvia as práticas de educação doméstica que, para além da formação cultural, demonstrava uma preocupação voltada para a formação de um comportamento exemplar feminino de boa esposa, gestora e mãe. Atenta-se para as estratégias pedagógicas adotadas, no que diz respeito ao dia a dia da educação de suas pupilas. Conclui-se que as orientações da Condessa sempre buscaram uma cultura sólida e diferenciada para a melhor formação e desempenho da futura função de imperatriz do Brasil, que como esperava-se, uma das duas exerceria. A preceptoria findou com o casamento das princesas, em 1864, porém as relações de amizade e afeto entre as três perduraram, fortalecendo os laços no decorrer dos anos. Após o falecimento da princesa Leopoldina em 1871, a princesa Isabel manteve contato estreito e longevo com sua preceptora até 1891, quando a Condessa morreu, aos 74 anos de idade.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The study presents and interprets part of the pedagogical itineraries adopted by the Countess of Barral, as principal preceptor of the heirs of the throne of Brazil, Isabel and Leopoldina, daughters of D. Pedro II, registered in her letters, diaries and notebooks (1856/1864). The main source of historical and documentary research is documentation, containing records of teachings and advice for the education of princesses, letters and egodocuments. The study addressed the conceptions of education that the Countess showed in her letters, demonstrating the behavior of the Brazilian aristocracy and, on a more specific level, presented the way in which the preceptor developed domestic education practices that, in addition to cultural training, demonstrated a concern focused on the formation of an exemplary female behavior of a good wife, manager and mother. Attention is paid to the pedagogical strategies adopted, with regard to the day-to-day education of their pupils. We conclude that the Countess's guidelines have always sought a solid and differentiated culture for the better formation and performance of the future role of Empress of Brazil, which, as expected, one of the two would exercise. The preceptorship ended with the wedding of the princesses, in 1864, but the relationships of friendship and affection between the three endured, strengthening the bonds over the years. After the death of Princess Leopoldina in 1871, Princess Isabel maintained close and long-lived contact with her governess until 1891, when the Countess died, at the age of 74.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El estudio presenta e interpreta parte de los itinerarios pedagógicos adoptados por la condesa de Barral, como principal preceptora de las herederas del trono de Brasil, Isabel y Leopoldina, hijas de D. Pedro II, inscritas en sus cartas, diarios y cuadernos (1856/1864). La principal fuente de investigación histórica y documental es la documentación, que contiene registros de enseñanzas y consejos para la educación de princesas, cartas y documentos del ego. El estudio abordó las concepciones de la educación que la Condesa mostró en sus cartas, demostrando el comportamiento de la aristocracia brasileña y, en un nivel más específico, presentó la forma en que la preceptora desarrolló prácticas educativas domésticas que, además de la formación cultural, demostraron. una preocupación centrada en la formación de un comportamiento femenino ejemplar de buena esposa, gerente y madre. Se presta atención a las estrategias pedagógicas adoptadas, en lo que respecta a la educación del día a día de sus alumnos. Concluimos que los lineamientos de la Condesa siempre han buscado una cultura sólida y diferenciada para la mejor formación y desempeño del futuro rol de Emperatriz de Brasil, que, como era de esperar, ejercería una de las dos. La tutela terminó con la boda de las princesas, en 1864, pero las relaciones de amistad y afecto entre las tres perduraron, fortaleciendo los lazos con el paso de los años. Tras la muerte de la princesa Leopoldina en 1871, la princesa Isabel mantuvo un estrecho y prolongado contacto con su institutriz hasta 1891, cuando murió la condesa, a los 74 años.]]></p></abstract>
