Este movimento tem sido fundamental para o avanço científico moderno, promovendo colaboração e transparência na pesquisa. O movimento se insere em um contexto de transformações nas formas de produção e circulação de informação e conhecimento, facilitando a rápida divulgação dos resultados de pesquisas, aumentando sua eficiência e impacto. A implementação desta prática científica exige esforços conjuntos de financiadores, instituições e reguladores, transformando profundamente as bases da prática científica e promovendo uma ciência mais colaborativa e eficaz para enfrentar os desafios contemporâneos. No Brasil, o movimento enfrenta desafios na comunicação científica, mas o Brasil não está sozinho, faz parte de um movimento maior que ocorre por toda Iberoamérica. A implementação do acesso aberto, a internacionalização dos periódicos, o enfrentamento à mercantilização do conhecimento científico é central para a democratização do conhecimento. A hegemonia do inglês como língua científica impõe barreiras, mas a colaboração regional pode promover uma ciência mais inclusiva. Porém, Iniciativas como DIALNET, REDIB, LATINDEX, SciELO e Redalyc exemplificam os esforços para integrar a ciência ibero-americana às práticas de Ciência Aberta, visando o desenvolvimento sustentável e a justiça social.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The objective of this article was to reflect on the pillars of Open Science (OS) and its implementation in the Ibero-American space. This movement has been fundamental to modern scientific advancement, promoting collaboration and transparency in research. The movement is part of a context of transformations in the forms of production and circulation of information and knowledge, facilitating the rapid dissemination of research results, increasing their efficiency and impact. The implementation of this scientific practice requires joint efforts from funders, institutions and regulators, profoundly transforming the foundations of scientific practice and promoting more collaborative and effective science to face contemporary challenges. In Brazil, the movement faces challenges in scientific communication, but Brazil is not alone, OS is part of a movement that occurs throughout Ibero-America. The implementation of open access, the internationalization of journals, and combating the commodification of scientific knowledge are central to the democratization of knowledge. The hegemony of English as a scientific language imposes barriers, but regional collaboration can promote inclusive science. However, initiatives such as DIALNET, REDIB, LATINDEX, SciELO and Redalyc exemplify efforts to integrate Ibero-American science with Open Science practices, aiming for sustainable development and social justice.]]></p></abstract>

Este movimiento ha sido fundamental para el avance científico moderno, promoviendo la colaboración y la transparencia en la investigación. El movimiento se enmarca en un contexto de transformaciones en las formas de producción y circulación de información y conocimiento, facilitando la rápida difusión de los resultados de las investigaciones, aumentando su eficiencia e impacto. La implementación de esta práctica científica requiere esfuerzos conjuntos de financiadores, instituciones y reguladores, transformando profundamente los fundamentos de la práctica científica y promoviendo una ciencia más colaborativa y efectiva para enfrentar los desafíos contemporáneos. En Brasil, el movimiento enfrenta desafíos en comunicación científica, pero Brasil no está solo, CAf es parte de un movimiento que ocurre en toda Iberoamérica. La implementación del acceso abierto, la internacionalización de las revistas y la lucha contra la mercantilización del conocimiento científico son fundamentales para la democratización del conocimiento.
